The breakfast was plentiful, with a wide selection of fresh fruits and cereals. My room had underfloor heating, perfect for Iceland's chilly weather.
A bit isolated location.

The location met my needs, it was peaceful close to volcano. What's more, it was short walk to even a shop and the airport and wing restaurant...
Nothing to dislike.

Hotel Vogar is 15 min drive to airport in a very small town with only restaurant. It is an alternative to staying in Keflavik --much quieter and almost as close to airport. It had small rooms, motel-style, but clean and with great black-out drapes for a good night's sleep. Breakfast was very good with more variety than more expensive hotels we stayed at in Iceland. About ten minutes to Blue Lagoon. Is expensive by North American standards, but seems to be the norm in Iceland.

Stayed here before, well priced place to stay. The staff were best and helpful and provided help. Plentiful breakfast was reasonably priced with many options, really enjoyed it. The location was excellent and convenient, close to blue lagoon, in the really quiet area.

I thought the shared bathroom was a charming idea but really, just listen to the guest next door cough all night. And don't get me started on the breakfast-boiled eggs and lackluster yogurt? Really? As a guest expecting something grand, i can't help but feel utterly let down by the experience. I almost thought of a good review, but just couldn't!

We arrived quite late, for just one night. The hotel manager was most helpful and as we had to leave very early the next morning, was eager to provide us with the full breakfast spread, nearly an hour before the official start of breakfast sitting. There was no evening meal, but immediately opposite the motel is a small and extremely good value restaurant - excellent food (the arctic trout was delicious) and the manager was again very good company. I understand the motel and restaurant work together. All in all, very good value
We stayed our last night in Iceland in Vogar, to be outside the Keflavik airport zone - one last night of peace and quiet. The downside to that is that a taxi to the airport will cost about ISK5000. That really was the only downside, but worth it in my opinion. Incidentally, the Hotel Vogar manager has an an arrangement with a local taxi driver in Vogar - apparently a very reliable chap and maybe cheaper that the ISK5000 I paid, by booking a taxi in advance via the airport.

The rooms were very clean. The bathroom was really nice. The hotel manager was very accommodating. Free internet in the hotel, but some rooms do not receive it. Since we were booked in a room that wifi did not reach, the hotel manager was kind enough to allow us to use another room to use the internet, at the same time allow us to remain in the room we were already in, which had a king size bed in it. 15 minutes to the airport. Breakfast was good.
The duvet cover from the bed was clean, however, looked a little old fashion. If they updated the cover, it would give the room a newer look.

We stayed only because we had an early flight from Keflavik airport. The room and bathroom were both large and comfortable. The restaurant over the road did offered a good meal, especially the local fish. There is an easy to follow walk around Vogar.
The hotel is actually a motel with limited services (breakfast service did not begin until 07.45 and the wi-fi did not work).

Staff is very kind. Close to airport.
Costly. Breakfast doesn't meet the price. It should be reduction if stayed several nights.
